Hike to Eagle Peak, Lake Tahoe, Highlight Reel

Eagle Peak in Lake Tahoe offers great views of the lake.  In the past, people just created their own trails, or used a steep trail cut in by previous hikers.  That trail wasn't safe, and it caused damage and erosion on the hillside. The California Tahoe Conservancy spent $100,000 to build a new trail, and it was recently completed.  Now, hikers can climb to the top via a switchback trail, hiking through pines and manzanita, and complete the 1/3 mile ascent in about 20 minutes.  It's a popular place, so the street parking may be full.
To give you an idea where this is, view the photo map.
This highlight reel follows the hike from the start, to the peak, and back down.  Have fun and be safe.
