Rim Trail with Storm Approaching

I visited the Rim Trail at the Lafayette Reservoir, and took these images as a storm approached. The dark clouds in the distance eventually dumped heavy rain and hail in an unusual spring storm.
The mission of East Bay Trails.com is to showcase trails and nature in the San Francisco East Bay and around the world. I believe the path to health and wellness lies in exploring nature, especially through hiking. Through photography, video, news and information, my goal is to share what I've seen so that people become motivated to explore nature, and through that effort, become healthier.
I incorporate Google Earth flyovers in my hike reviews. If you don't see the flyovers, get the Google Earth plugin here.
Enjoy the site and thank you for visiting.

On waking, he found himself on the green knoll whence he had first seen the old man of the glen. He rubbed his eyes - it was a bright sunny morning. The birds were hopping and twittering among the bushes, and the eagle was wheeling aloft, and breasting the pure mountain breeze. "Surely," thought Rip, "I have not slept here all night." He recalled the occurrences before he fell asleep. The strange man with a keg of liquor - the mountain ravine - the wild retreat among the rocks - the woe-begone party at ninepins - the flagon - "Oh! that flagon! that wicked flagon!" thought Rip - "what excuse shall I make to Dame Van Winkle!"

I hiked Joaquin Miller Park today, one of the friendliest trails I've visited. Here are some scenes from that hike.
